Eugenides is the ruler of all the lands of Attolia. He is the official father of the people, the lord of the barons, the undisputed and absolute sovereign, anointed by priests and priestesses. He is also a former enemy, a former thief, and still young and impetuous. Many are not ready to accept him as the king, even Eugenides himself.
