Football is very important in Eddie's life. He and his father are Jets fans and never miss a game on TV. Eddie transfers his passion to his own team-he and his best friend, Bobby, and two other kids regularly play against a mouthy boy named Kirby and his Giants-loving buddies. The frustrating thing is that they have never won. As Eddie develops a strategy to improve the team, his life off the field gets in the way: He feels strangely distracted whenever Bobby's twin sister, Jackie, is near, and his father moves out of the house.
