Free MARC Records
JLG Members can opt to receive Standard MARC records for all books we offer at no charge. They are available for download both individually or as a group by JLG shipment or packing list. Please note: Standard MARC records will not be customized for your library. You may edit the records manually after importing them. See the bottom of this page for detailed specifications.

Custom MARC Records
If our Standard MARC Records require more than simple edits to meet your needs, we also offer Custom MARC Records at competitive rates. These fully custom records are provided with each of your JLG book shipments.

Complete Shelf-Ready Processing
Out of the box and on to the shelves. We now offer fully attached shelf-ready processing for just $2.00/book. Service includes fully custom MARC records, Mylar jacket, barcodes, and spine labels – all affixed to your exact specifications and requirements.

1. Login to this site. If you haven’t yet activated your web account, click the “Register” button on any page on the site and follow the simple instructions to activate your web account.
2. Click on My Account, then Processing Options. If you're already logged in, you may click to go there directly.
3. Select your processing options and complete your profile for Custom MARC Records or shelf-ready processing.

JLG  Standard MARC  Records will be created using the following specifications:

Call number

 • 092 – Dewey call number

Easy Prefix - E
  • Easy Cutter – three letters of the author’s name

Nonfiction Call Number - Abridged Dewey Number
  • Nonfiction Cutter – three letters of the author’s name

Fiction Call Number - F
  • Fiction Cutter – three letters of the author’s name

Story Collection Call Number - SC
  • Story Collection Cutter – three letters of the author’s name

Individual Biography Call Number - B
  • Individual Biography Cutter – three letters of the author’s name

Collective Biography Call Number - 920
  • Collective Biography Cutter – three letters of the author’s name

Subject Headings
  • Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH)
  • LCSH Children’s Headings
  • Sears Headings

All records will contain summary notes in the 520 field
