Processing Options
MARC Records (Limited Cataloging)
For only $35 per year, this option provides fully customized MARC records for your monthly selections. This is a flat fee, regardless of the number of reading levels you order. You will need to complete a cataloging profile to ensure that the records are created to your specifications.
The records are available via diskette, CD, or e-mail and are sent to you on a monthly basis. MARC records are also available for our backlist titles at an additional charge. We also offer customized spine labels free of charge with the purchase of MARC records.
Barcode labels are available with the purchase of MARC records at an additional charge of $.60 per book, or $7.20 per reading level. You will receive two barcode labels per book.
Shelf-Ready Processing
This option provides fully customized MARC records as well as an attached spine label, barcode label and protective jacket for only $4.00 per book. The labels will be attached per your library's specifications.
Protective Book Covers
We offer protective Mylar jackets which are attached to the books. The jackets are offered at $1.00 per book or $12.00 per reading level.
Catalog Card Kits
Card kits are NOT customized in any way. They are available for $1.00 per title or $12.00 per reading level and contain the following:
- book pocket (self adhesive)
- checkout (or borrower's) card
- spine label strip
- card set (main entry, shelf list, subject and added entry cards)
* The spine label strip will contain the five most popular cataloging options based on the type of book.
* Card kits are NOT attached to the books; they will be shipped in the box with your books. The book pocket is self-adhesive.
Spine Labels
For $5.00 per reading level, we will provide a spine label strip for every book ordered. This option does NOT provide customized spine labels. Each strip will give you the five most popular cataloging options based on the type of books. If you are interested in receiving customized spine labels, please refer back to the MARC records, or limited cataloging, option above.
Shelf List Cards
For $5.00 per reading level, you can purchase a generic shelf list card for every book you receive. The shelf list card provides the same information that would be found in a MARC record. Note that the shelf list cards are NOT customized.
3M Security Strips
Available for $.50 per book, or $6.00 per reading level. The strips are NOT installed in the books.
Exchanges and Substitutions
Junior Library Guild guarantees your satisfaction with every book you receive. By offering our electronic cataloging on a monthly basis, we can ensure that any advance substitutions or exchange titles will arrive in your library with the cataloging you have requested.
