We Need Diverse Books: The Walter Award 2018

We Need Diverse Books™ is a grassroots organization of children’s book lovers that advocates essential changes in the publishing industry to produce and promote literature that reflects and honors the lives of all young people.
The Walter Dean Myers Award, which WNDB representatives have already nicknamed The Walter, recognizes published authors from diverse backgrounds who celebrate diversity in their writing and [allow] children to see themselves reflected back' in those works, according to WNDB’s announcement to PW.
