Webcast Recap: Mistakes, Gelatinous Goo, and Rhyming Words: Fall Debut Class of 2017

Written by Deborah B. Ford

First Rule of PunkOn today’s webcast Roger Sutton and I talked about hot debut authors and illustrators from our JLG fall selections. Fall offers a feast of new talents vying to be the next big names in children’s and YA lit. We’ve already seen authors like Angie Thomas (The Hate U Give) and Ibi Ziboi (American Street) go straight to the top. From picture books about mistakes to novels with fairytale reimaginings, which debut books are making the season’s best lists and gathering stars in their wake?

In addition to providing you with great selections, Junior Library Guild is building resources to help you use these titles. Check out our JLG Booktalks to Go Fall 2017 LiveBinder. JLG BTG titles are also added to our Pinterest board. Look for book trailers and archived webcasts on our JLG YouTube Playlists. Thanks to Kayleigh, BTG is added to the book detail page. This is a direct link to the resources in the binder. We’re also building a Pinterest board to celebrate these and others in the class of 2017. You’ll find it under Junior Library Guild/Debut Authors and Illustrators Class of 2017.

This webcast will be archived and posted on the JLG website at a later date. Your certificate of attendance can be reprinted by watching the archived video for at least ten minutes.

Join us next time at 3:00PM Eastern on December 14 for Celebrating the Best Books of 2017.
