Bronx Masquerade

When Wesley Boone shares a poem in his high school English class, his classmates are inspired to write poems of their own to read aloud. Chankara Troupe exposes the scars of domestic violence in "Bruised Love," and Leslie Lucas writes of friendship as a life preserver in "a pool of tears." During weekly readings, the eighteen students share their poems with the class and discover that poetry connects them in ways they hadn’t thought possible.
