Twelve-year-old Michael Arroyo has dreamed of pitching in the Little League World Series since long before he, his older brother, Carlos, and Papi came to the Bronx from Cuba. Now he's the star pitcher of the South Bronx Clippers, a team poised for the championship. But he has a secret: a few months ago, Papi died of a heart attack, leaving Michael and Carlos to fend for themselves. Michael worries that if anyone finds out, he'll lose his new home and his chance at victory.
