Summary <i>The Smallest Girl Ever</i>: Ruby, daughter of famous magicians, is sent to a magical boarding school. When Ruby cannot perform magic, the headmistress allows Alfonso, masquerading as her uncle, to take her away. Alfonso’s anger causes Ruby to shrink even more, and he casts her away in a purse as useless. The purse lands on Aunt Hat, and Aunt Hat takes Ruby in. They grow close and perform magic tricks together. <i>The Boy Who Could Fly</i>: The Fat Fairy offers Thomas a birthday wish, and he asks to be able to fly. Alan Top and Thomas’s teachers are upset when Thomas begins to fly. Thomas meets Mr. Vinnie and learns he is not the only one who can fly, but in his family it causes friction.
