My Uncle Emily

Six-year-old Gib and "Uncle" Emily (Dickinson) explore the world of insects and small things and share Emily's poems, which Gib doesn't understand but loves just the same. When Uncle Emily asks him to share a poem about a bee with his class, Gib is afraid his classmates will laugh at him-and they do. Afterward Gib fights a boy who calls Uncle Emily a name.
