When Darius ignores his best friend's feelings for Rubee and hooks up with her at a party in Riley Park, Corbin drowns his jealousy in a six-pack. Waking up after the party, Corbin finds that he and Darius are alone. Moments later, Darius is viciously assaulted from behind by three assailants. Corbin is severely injured trying to defend Darius, who later dies in the hospital. Corbin thinks that Rubee's ex-boyfriend is responsible for the attack, but he's unable to recall useful details about the incident. As Corbin struggles to get his life back, he also strives, with the help of Rubee and a sympathetic policeman, to bring Darius's murder to justice.
