Stranded in Boringsville

After Rain’s parents separate, Rain and her mother move to the middle of nowhere to start a new life. Clarkson, their small town, is so far away from civilization that they can’t even order pizza. At least Rain finds a pal in Daniel, the "phenomenally bright" boy next door. They play chess, search for a platypus, and hang out together, but as the new term approaches, Daniel confesses that he’s the least popular kid at school. Will Rain be able to stand by him?
