The Golden Goose

Poor Farmer Skint is not very good at his job. He always pays too much and sells for too little, his harvest is inevitably spoiled by rain, and his chickens are forever getting eaten by foxes. On the verge of ruin he sells all of his animals except a gander named Misery and a goose called Sorrow. Then something amazing happens: Sorrow lays a golden egg. Black-and-white illustrations.
