Water Hole Waiting

It is a hot day on the African savanna. A young vervet monkey "opens his eyes with a thirsty grunt" and bounces down the tree toward the water hole. He thinks it is time for a drink. But Mama sees danger, and they have to wait until first hippos, then lions, and elephants have had their fill. "Evening sighs" and "sun sinks" before the monkeys get a chance to quench their thirst.
