What Elephant?

One quiet day George bursts out the door shouting, "Help! Help! There's an elephant in my house." He tells the gathering crowd it was "sitting on my couch . . . watching TV and eating my chocolate chip cookies!" No one believes him-elephants don't do such things-and soon even George starts to have doubts. Still, if George has been "out in the sun too long" and "just needs some sleep," then why is his couch broken, and what's that loud snoring coming from his bedroom?
