Zuzu’s Wishing Cake

Zuzu loves making ordinary things special. She can turn a paper towel tube into a telescope, a cardboard box into a car, a brown bag into a hat, and an old film strip into a pair of sunglasses. When a new boy moves in across the street, Zuzu tries welcoming him with her homemade presents-but he doesn't smile or even come outside. She thinks and thinks.
