Bright Path: Young Jim Thorpe

Jim Thorpe spent his early childhood running, hunting, and playing on the Sac and Fox lands of Oklahoma. When his father sent him to military-strict schools for Indian children, Jim rebelled and ran away each time, often traveling hundreds of miles back home on foot. Then he discovered organized sports and a legendary coach named Pop Warner. Young Jim Thorpe would soon run all the way to Olympic gold-and the title of "World's Greatest Athlete." Full-color art.
